Obituary
Mr. Carrel D. Wyatt, Sr., age 78, of Opp, Alabama passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
Carrel is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Charles Gunnels Wyatt; daughters, Katie Wyatt Fuller & husband, Lee, and Carrel Ann Wyatt Spears & husband, Ferrell; son, Charlie Gunnels Wyatt; twin brother, Farrel C. Wyatt & wife, Betty; grandchildren, Cale Wyatt Pierce, Sara Kate Horn, Graceanne Spears, Wyatt Heath Horn, Mary Carreline Spears, Addyson Boutwell and Marli Ann Wyatt; brother-in-law, Richard H. Gilchrist; and numerous special family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Carrel D. "Dee" Wyatt, Jr.; parents, Jewell (Bowdoin) and G.F.T. "Thea" Wyatt; mother & father-in-law, Marguerite & Charlie F. Gunnels; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Gunnels Gilchrist.
Funeral services for Mr. Carrel D. Wyatt, Sr. will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 10, 2025 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 until 8. Bro. Garry Winstead and Bro. Danny Branch will be officiating with Cale Pierce, Wyatt Horn, Chase Williams, Trey Dunbar, Chris Dunbar, Kyle Wyatt, Drew Wilson and Jamie Bowers serving as pallbearers.
