Mr. Wesley Irvin Bess, Age 96, entered his eternal home on September 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Wesley W. Bess and Bunnie V. Bess. He grew up in the Perry Store Community. He married the love of his life, Jewell in 1956. He was employed by the Opp Country Club as grounds keeper for approximately 30 years. He was a hard worker and was always dedicated to his job. He loved and adored his family, and they were the Center of his life. He was active in his local church wherever he lived. He served as Deacon, President of the Brotherhood Committee and Chairman of the Usher Board. He is currently a member of Center Baptist Church, Webb, Alabama 

He is survived by his daughter Judy Bess Holley (Johnny); son Ray Lamar Rhodes; sister Margaret Butts; sister-in law Vera Bess, grandchildren, Joni Holley Bess (Jamie), Chad Rhodes (Casey), Jana Holley Best (Billy). Great-grandchildren Aiden Rhodes, Conner Rhodes, Holley Ana, Kinley Daniele, Will Best, Melody Best, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was succeeded in death by his wife Jewell Bess; parents Bunnie V Bess and Wesley W Bess; Daughter in law Patricia Rhodes; Sisters, Kathleen Scofield, Mary Hawthorne; Brothers, William Bess, Howard Bess and Vester Bess. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Brother Johnny Holley and Brother Hubert Brown will be officiating the services. Chad Rhodes, Aiden Rhodes, Conner Rhodes, Jamie Bess, Billy Best and Will Best will be serving as pallbearers.
