Mr. Kermit Wayne Smith, age 79, of Opp, Alabama passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024 in Mizell Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Doris Spann Smith; sons & daughters-in-law, Shane Smith & Amanda, and Andy Smith & Gypsy; sister, Carolyn Morehead; brother, James Harold Smith; sisters-in-law, Judy McIntosh, Sara Farris & Hinton, and Linda Donaldson; brothers-in-law, Dick Spann and Lamar Spann; and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Essie Alberta Stanton Smith and Plez James Smith, Sr.; sisters, Irnel Sherrer, Gladys Sherrer, Verlene Barr and Bernice Hancock; brother, Plez James Smith, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Mary Coon.

A private graveside service for Mr. Kermit Wayne Smith will be held in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. Bro. Danny Branch will be officiating with Wyatt Funeral Home directing. The family requests the omission of flowers, and memorials be made to Ino Baptist Church, 6157 AL Hwy 134, Kinston, AL 36453.
