Mr. Douglas Wayne Hurst, age 57, of Opp, Alabama died Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Tammy Burlison Hurst; daughters, Angel Pearson and Angela Lynn Dubose and husband, Yancey; son, Thomas Lewis Boothe; brother, Johnny Hurst; sister, Darlene Hurst DeVeny & husband, David; grandchildren, Timothy, Savannah, Amber, Noland and Marilyn; mother-in-law, Linda Burlison; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph Burlison, Jr., Mark Burlison, Sandra Burlison and April Burlison Jesse. He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Pearson; brothers, Carlton Hurst and Tony Hurst; and parents, Mary Stephens Hurst and James Hurst.

Funeral services for Mr. Douglas Wayne Hurst will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 4, 2023 from New Hope Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Scott Prescott will be officiating with R. J. Hurst, Tim Hurst, Sonny Hurst, Yancey Dubose, Jeremy Weeks and Justin Carter serving as pallbearers.
