Mr. Rufus Ray Strickland, age 79, of Opp, Alabama, died Saturday, July 3, 2021 in the Opp Health and Rehab. He was born on April 16, 1942 to his late parents, Ethel and Arthur Strickland of Opp. He retired from Opp Micolas Mills with 25 years of service.

Rufus is survived by brothers, Robert (Pat) of McCalla, Alabama , Raymond (Debbie) of Jackson, Mississippi, and Gary (Wanda) of Opp; sisters, Monette Walker of Navarre, Florida, Evelyn (Bruce) Commander of Westville, Florida, and Flora (Darwin) Jacobs of Kinston, Alabama; stepsons, Robert, Jimmy Ray, and Tim Baldwin; and numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; stepdaughter, Linda; and brother, Roy Strickland of Opp.

A graveside service for Mr. Rufus Ray Strickland will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Memorial Methodist Church, 209 E. Ida Ave., Opp, Alabama 36467.
