Ms. Ruby Merle Williamson, age 79, of Opp, Alabama passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026 at her home.

Ms. Williamson is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Gillum, and Stephanie Batchelor & husband, Lamar; son, Travis Gay; sisters, Marie Dubose, Lois Compton, and Debbie Pearce & husband, Rockey; 12 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren & 5 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Debbie Williamson; and special friend, Barbara Smith. She was preceded in death by her son, Houston David Gay; sister, Betty Lou Sasser; brother, Rickie Williamson; and parents, Effie Mae Hall Williamson and Kendrick Williamson.

Funeral services for Ms. Ruby Merle Williamson will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Old Union Primitive Cemetery in Brantley. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Thomas Mayberry and Steve DuBose will be officiating with Landon, Jason, Paul, T. J., David and Cayden serving as pallbearers.
