Obituary

Mr. Robert Earl Chambless, Sr., age 92, passed peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

Robert served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. He was a retired Avionics Technician from Fort Rucker where he worked for 30 plus years.

Robert enjoyed talking with people, riding around in the car looking for a good yard sale, and watching the Grand Ole Opry every Saturday night. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He adored his grandchildren and the great-grands.

Mr. Chambless is survived by his daughter, LyDonna Farris & husband, Brad; son, Robert Earl Chambless, Jr. & wife, Lora; four grandchildren, Paige Johnson & husband, Saege, Haley Collins & husband, PJ, Rebecca Chambless & Chris, and Josh Chambless; great-grandchildren, A. J., Kayden and Adeline Collins; and his beloved dog, Roxy, who was a comforting companion for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Phillips Chambless; parents, Esker & Effie Chambless; and brother, Esker Chambless, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Earl Chambless, Sr. will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 28, 2026 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with military graveside honors following in Macedonia Cemetery, Co Rd 460, Kinston, Alabama. Visitation will be held at Wyatt Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. Pastors Joe Farris, Danny Branch and Garry Winstead will be officiating with Brad Farris, Saege Johnson, PJ Collins, Mickeal Farris, Jeff Phillips and Josh Chambless serving as pallbearers.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org

The family will be receiving friends at his daughter’s home, 3527 Hwy 189, Kinston, AL 36453.
