Mr. Markie Pomroy Howell, age 85, of Kinston, Alabama passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at his home.

Pomroy was born in 1938 to his late parents, Jessie Frances Bass Howell and Willie Gray Howell. He retired from Ft. Rucker, Alabama and farmed the family land. Pomroy and Barbara Jo married in 1965 and it was then he started attending Fairview Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for fifty-six years.

Mr. Howell is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Barbara Jo Adkison Howell; daughters & sons-in-law, Shan Howell Sessions & Chris, and Sonna Howell Davis & Jacob; grandsons, Jessie Sessions, Grayson Sessions & wife, Chancey, and Jaken Davis; sisters, Carolyn Patrenos and JoAnn Kerr; brother, Willie Frank "Bill" Howell; brother-in-law, Dykes Adkison; and numerous nieces & nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Adelaide Mullens; and brother, Lamar Howell.

Funeral services for Mr. Markie Pomroy Howell will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, January 7, 2024 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until service time. Rev. Wayne Sharpe will be officiating.
