Olene
Henderson
July 17, 1938 – March 1, 2025
On Saturday March 1, 2025, Mrs. Olene Henderson, age 86 of Opp, Alabama went to be with her Savior. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Olene was a gentle, kind, and compassionate follower of Christ. She faithfully served the Lord in her church, community, on mission trips and in caring for her family and friends, providing us all with a godly example of Proverbs 31. Truly loving others as themselves, she and Dallis hosted exchange students, cared for single moms and their children, and sacrificially gave to those in need. Olene taught girls' missions studies and helped lead children's church for many years. Her family has peace knowing that her Lord welcomed her home as His faithful servant.
Her many talents made her especially dear. Olene excelled as a cook, seamstress, and an artist. She created many beautiful paintings which her family cherishes as loving reminders of a life well-lived. All the while she worked for many decades in the banking industry and with Home Interiors/Celebrating Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallis J. Henderson; infant daughters, Cheryl Henderson and Sheryl Henderson; and parents, Odis and Glennie Frances Whitman.
