Mrs. Monette "Monk" McLeod Carter, age 87, of Andalusia passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026 at her home.

Mrs. Carter is survived by her sons, Jerome Carter, and Scotty Carter & wife, Carol; daughter, Debbie Adams & husband, James; brothers, Ronald McLeod & wife, Becky, and Danny McLeod & wife, Sandra; sister, Phyllis McLeod; grandchildren, Joseph Carter, Andrew Carter, Hugh Davis Carter, Daphne Messick, Megan Savage, Jakelyn Carter, Jerri Rose Carter, Gabe Carter, Wendy Dearden, Haley Carter and Brandon Tyndall; and numerous great & great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Carter; son, Jerry Carter; sisters, Kay Donaldson and Charlotte Yancey; and parents, Alma Pearl (Beasley) & Obie Thiel McLeod.

Funeral services for Mrs. Monette "Monk" McLeod Carter will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 12, 2026 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Bro. Wesley Jeffcoat will be officiating. Joseph Carter, Andrew Carter, Hugh Davis Carter, Grayson Cannon, Kal-El Savage and Justin Savage will be serving as pallbearers along with honorary pallbearer, Jonathan White. Following the graveside service, the family invites everyone to join them at Good News Chapel beginning at 4:00 Monday afternoon.
