Mrs. Merlene Short Mills, age 92, of the Babbie Community died Sunday, June 19, 2022 in the Opp Health & Rehab.

Mrs. Mills is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Rogers & husband, Bobby, and Jane Scheffler & husband, Thomas; grandchildren, Cindy Pettie & John, Jeff Rogers & Karen, Matthew Rogers, Gerald Scheffler & Jenni, and Rebecca Morris & Andy; great-grandchildren, Jarrod Pettie & Stephanie, Jordan Pettie & Cortney, Alora Rogers, Brent Rogers & Jamis, Landen Rogers, Quintin Scheffler, Meredith Morris and Mallory Morris; and great-great grandchildren, Brayden Pettie, Rylan Pettie, Jackson Pettie, Camdyn Pettie and Elleigh Grace Pettie. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Mills; son, Jerry Mills; parents, Vinnie Lee and W.A. "Buddy" Short; and one brother & three sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Merlene Short Mills will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Bobby Morgan will be officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Rogers, Landen Rogers, Jarrod Pettie, Jordan Pettie, Shawn Short and Scotty Short.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of Marilyn & Bobby Rogers, 22733 John Rd., Andalusia, AL 36421.
