Mrs. Maxine McVay Mooney, age 99, of Opp, Alabama passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 in the Opp Health & Rehab.

Mrs. Mooney is survived by her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Mooney; sister, Charlotte McVay Hall & husband, Donald; brother, Donald Ray McVay; grandchildren, Maryann Mooney Beck & husband, Pat, Laura Mooney & husband, Evan Smith, Jim Mooney & wife, Misty, and Chris Mooney & wife, Angie; grandson-in-law, Wade James; and great-grandchildren, Kevin, Bailey, Brett & Brady James, Patrick & Anna Dickson Beck; Mattie Mooney-McMillan, Kate Smith and Molly Kate & Ellie Mooney. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Mooney; sons, Wendell Mooney and Wayne Mooney; daughter-in-law, Patricia Mooney; granddaughter, Shandi Mooney James; parents, Bertha McBryde McVay and George Lon McVay; and six siblings.

A graveside service for Mrs. Maxine McVay Mooney will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Rose Hill Cemetery in the Rose Hill Community. Bro. Gary Miller will be officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Brett James, Brady James, Wade James, Patrick Beck, Pat Beck and Evan Smith.
