Mrs. Matha Palmer Huggins, age 86, a life-long resident of Opp, Alabama passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022 in Mizell Memorial Hospital. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother & grandmother and a God fearing Christian woman.

Mrs. Huggins is survived by her son, Dennis Huggins & wife, Pam; sisters, Cathryn Bush and Myra Hughes & husband, Harrison; son-in-law, Dwight Dillard; grandchildren, Derek Dillard & wife, Amanda, and Shane Dillard & wife, Roxann; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Huggins; daughter, Janet Huggins Dillard; parents, Lucille Hudson Palmer and Sam Palmer; sisters, Hazel Lee & husband, Hurley, and Sybil Davis & husband, Dalton; brother, Eugene Palmer; and brother-in-law, Charles Bush.

Funeral services for Mrs. Matha Palmer Huggins will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 20, 2022 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the servcie. Jeff Hughes will be officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Dwight Dillard, Derek Dillard, Shane Dillard, Landon Hughes, Clark Johnson and Jacob Johnson.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of Myra & Harrison Hughes, 1108 E. Hart Ave, Opp, Alabama 36467.
