Mrs. Linda Jeffcoat Lucas, a long-time resident of Opp, Alabama, died Saturday, February 27, 2021 in Mizell Memorial Hospital. She was 74. She taught English at Opp High School for forty years before her retirement in 2006.

Mrs. Lucas is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Ray Lucas; two sons & daughters-in-law, Chris Lucas & Sara, and Kyle Lucas & Kayla; two sisters & brothers-in-law, Ellen Simmons & Horace, Jr., and Peggy Stack & John; one brother, Dewey Jeffcoat; and three grandsons, Cooper, Owen and Rhett. She is preceded in death by her brother, Jerrell; and parents, Alma & Olen Jeffcoat of Elba, Alabama.

Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Jeffocat Lucas will be held at 10 am Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Jay Driver will be officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be John Stack, Jr., Tracy Morgan, Cale Cosby, Kirk Norris, Jamie Bowers and Jeff Kidd.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Opp Public Library, a place Mrs. Lucas loved to visit after her retirement.
