Mrs. Lessie Mae Bess Driggers (age 99), beloved mother and grandmother, gained her angel wings on Tuesday, August 10, 2021.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter, Carolyn (Gary) Linder; son, Huey (Vicki) Driggers; five grandchildren, Jeffrey (Bonnie) Cocchi, Amanda Grau, Eric Grau, Michael (Dorothy) Driggers and Danny (Jamie) Linder; ten great-grandchildren, Thor (Brooke) Cocchi, Luke Sanders, Anna Claire Grau, Maggie Cocchi, Charlie Linder, Dylan Cocchi, Jack Henry Grau, Hazel Mae Driggers, Louise Ann Driggers, and Georgia Lynn Driggers; and one great-great granddaughter, Stella Mae Ann Cocchi; along with many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, Melvin Driggers; parents, George Thomas & Cora Mae Bess; and siblings, Chester Bess, Lincoln Bess, Leamon Bess, Porter Bess and Ruth Jowers.
A graveside service for Mrs. Lessie Mae Bess Driggers will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 16, 2021 at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in New Brockton, Alabama. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans www.dav.org .
Mrs. Driggers was an active member of Landmark Church in Phenix City. She dearly loved her family, her friends and her church family and spent many hours praying for them.
The family requests that everyone in attendance wear a mask and practice social distance precautions.
