Mr. George Lamar Burgess, age 69, of Opp, Alabama passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Southeast Health in Dothan.

Mr. Burgess is survived by his son, Clint Burgess & wife, Karlotta; brother, Tommie Burgess & wife, Martha; grandchildren, Isabella Burgess, John Dawson Burgess and William Foxworth; Clint's mother, Julie Weeks Burgess; and many other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys Powell Burgess and George Dewey Burgess; and sisters, Martha Dean, Betty Sue Jones and Mary Edna Ashberry.

Funeral services for Mr. George Lamar Burgess will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Blue Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Phillip Rayburn will be officiating with Tommie Burgess, Danny Hussey, Eric Cox, Michael Foster, Kolya Barton and Wayne Cordelle serving as pallbearers.
