Julia
Pierce
November 17, 1942 – October 17, 2024
Julia Ann (Davis) Pierce passed away peacefully Thursday, October 17, 2024 after a brief illness, one month before her 82nd birthday.
Julia grew up between Babbie and Sanford, Alabama next to her father's store, the A.C. Davis store. She graduated from Straughn High School in 1961. After living all around the south for several years, she, along with her two boys, moved to Opp, Alabama after her husband passed away in 1973.
Many will remember Julia from her days at Dean's Pharmacy where she made homemade milkshakes and hand squeezed lemonades at the soda fountain counter, or from her many years of helping friends and customers at T & C Pharmacy. She was a faithful member of Opp Church of Christ for many years and then later on at Gridertown Church of Christ.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Sam Pierce (Kim); granddaughters, Julianna Pierce and Emily Steinhauer (Michael); sister, Sarah Powell (Larry); and numerous nieces and nephews who affectionately knew her as "Juju".
Julia Pierce was preceded in death by her parents, A.C. Davis and Bertie Mae Thomaston Davis; husband, Leon Pierce; son, Adam Pierce; sister, Mary Dewrell; and brother-in-law, James Dewrell.
Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Ann Davis Pierce will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 19, 2024 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Sanford Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Doug Williams will be officiating with Ricky Hudson, Kevin Hudson, Adam Hudson, Jeffrey Djerlek, John Eiland and Rick Martin.
