Mrs. Josephine Grissett Free, age 78, of Elba, Alabama passed away Friday, October 4, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Free is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles E. "Chick" Free; sons & daughters-in-law, Tim Free & Connie, and Chris Free & Meighan; brothers, Louie Grissett, Jack Grissett and Jerry Grissett; sisters, Nadine Gilley, Christine Holmes, Thelma Clark, Connie Brennan and Virginia Davis; grandchildren, Gavin Free & wife, Kayla, Laiken Free Blackwell & husband, Tyler, Jacob Free & wife, Darlene, and Emily Free King & husband, Dakota; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie Free; sister, Lorine Jackson; and parents, Mable Bryant Grissett and Joe Frank Grissett.

Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Grissett Free will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from Ino Baptist Church with burial following in New Home Cemetery at Basin. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Bro. Garry Winstead and Bro. Danny Branch will be officiating with Gavin Free, Jacob Free, Tyler Blackwell and Dakota King serving as pallbearers.
