Obituary

Mr. Jimmy Wayne Bradley of Opp, Alabama, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on November 21, 2023, at the Opp nursing home.

Mr. Bradley proudly served in the U.S. Navy for eight years, on the USS Thomas Jefferson submarine, the USS Argonaut submarine, and on the USS Toledo and USS Los Angeles heavy cruisers. He then went on to achieve his bachelor's degree in commerce and his master's degree in marketing and international business from the University of Maryland. He had a prosperous career in technology and worked his way up the corporate ladder, all while enjoying obtaining his pilot's license, skydiving, scuba diving, and racing.

After retiring, Mr. Bradley returned to his roots in Opp. There, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and giving back to his community, including as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Opp for his church family and friends. His family thanks this church family for the outpouring of love and support they have provided.

On the local level, Mr. Bradley served as councilman for the city of Opp from 2004 to 2008. He also took pride in being a Gideon and a member of Rotary International since 2000. Mr. Bradley was a generous, giving man and was grateful to be able to help others.
