Mr. James Douglas "Jim" Clare,  age 77, of Opp passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in Mizell Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Clare is survived by his daughter, Leslie Ann Clare; sisters, Patty Holt (Darrell) and Leta Clare; granddaughters, Megan Barber (Brian) and Sydney Jones (Austin Wise); and great-grandsons, Michael James Barber and Stetson Brooks Barber. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gayle Presley Clare.

A funeral service for Mr. James Douglas "Jim" Clare will be held at 11:00 am Friday, March 24, 2023 from Westview Baptist Church with burial following in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. Gary Miller officiating with Brian Barber, Austin Wise, Johnny McInnis, Richard Olsen, Bo Dillard, Johnny Daniels, Larry Anderson and Robert Breedlove and serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mizell Memorial Hospital Foundation, Meals of Love or to Amvets all of Opp, Al.
