Mrs. Helen Cowen Murphy, age 81, of Opp, Alabama passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 in Mizell Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Murphy is survived by her daughters, Annah St. John and Mandi Richardson; sisters, Ramona Hammett, Mary Flagg, Ann Scott, and Janice Lindsay & Bill; brothers, Roland Cowen & Shelby, Charles Cowen & Amy, Ed Cowen & Myrna, and Jeff Cowen & Sharon; and nine grandchildren & six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Murphy; daughter, Laura Wise Pike; son, Chuck Wise; sister, Corine McCarthy; and granddaughter, Taylor Osborn.

A memorial service for Mrs. Helen Cowen Murphy will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 27, 2024 from New Ebenezer Baptist Church in the Curtis Community (3132 Hwy 141, Elba, AL 36323).
