Harold Farris, 76, of Kinston, Alabama, passed away on April 19, 2026.
He is survived by his son, Joe Farris (Christie); daughter, Shasta Barron (Lavonne); grandchildren, Amberli Dorsey (Cole), Annah Murphey (Trent), Caleb Farris, Cameron Arnett, Carrley Barron (Hardy), and Cailyn Fikes (Phil); great-grandchildren, Bo and Briggs Dorsey, Ella Kaitlyn Murphey, and Millie and Barron Gibson; sister, Ruby Jo King, brother, Hinton Farris (Sara); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ruby Farris; and his sister, Betty Williams.
Mr. Farris was a lifelong resident of the Kinston community and was known for his strong work ethic and the genuine care he showed to others. He spent 56 years as a dedicated cosmetologist, where he not only served his clients, but formed lasting friendships that spanned generations.
He was a devoted father and took great pride in his children, loving them deeply. Harold found joy in the simple things in life, especially cooking for his family and sharing meals with those he loved. In recent years, he faithfully gave his time and service to the Sardis Thrift Store, where his generosity and servant’s heart were evident to all.
Mr. Farris will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to his family, and the many lives he touched throughout his years. His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services for Mr. Harold M. Farris will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with burial following in Alberton Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Pastors Joe Farris and Garry Winstead will be officiating with special music by Flint and Christine Harrelson. Serving as pallbearers will be Lavonne Barron, Caleb Farris, Cameron Arnett, Trent Murphy, Mickeal Farris and Brad Farris.
