Mr. George Howard Young, age 86, of Opp, Alabama passed away Friday, November 8, 2024 at his home.

Howard is survived by his four children, Mona Young Hugghins & husband, John, Kelly Young Duncan & husband, Gary, Jeffery Mixon Young & wife, Susan, and Justin Adams Young; eleven grandchildren, Josh Young & Kerri, Ben Young, Leanne H. Jones & George, Thomas Hugghins & Lindsay, Karlin Hugghins, Anna S. Yarbrough & Derek, Hal Senn & Kelly, Kayla Y. Pellowski & Scott, Mick Young, Jay Young and Amy Young; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-years, Peggy Adams Young; son, James Howard Young; grandson, Jonathan Scofield Young; sister, Rebecca Young Edgar; and parents, Sarah Smith Young and Abner Mixon Young.

Funeral services for Mr. George Howard Young will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 10, 2024 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with Masonic burial rites following in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Trey Poole will be officiating with members of Opp Lodge #605 serving as pallbearers.
