Mr. Donald Gaston Prater, age 75, of the Babbie Community passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023 in Flowers Hospital.

Donald was a Vietnam Veteran. He received the Bronze Star Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge.

Mr. Prater is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Allyson Prater Collins & Brett; son & daughter-in-law, Scott Prater & wife, Wendy; grandchildren, Caleb Brett Collins, Lydia Rayne Collins and Mack Prater; mother, Frances Prater; sisters, Annette Prater and Donna Prater Youmans; and sister-in-law, Vivian Hargrove. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Matthews Prater; sister, Sandra Prater Phillips; and father, George Gaston Prater.

Funeral services for Mr. Donald Gaston Prater will be held at 10:00 am Monday, January 16, 2023 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery in Elba. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Jimmy Aaron will be officiating with Adam Jones, Spencer Youmans, Terry Kersey, Terry Kersey II, Mike Ballard and Phillip Crowell serving as pallbearers.
