Mr. Daniel Ray Champion, age 51, of Opp, Alabama passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 in Mizell Memorial Hospital.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Kristy Gwaltney Champion; sons, Colby Champion and Walt Champion; daughter, Dani Lynn Champion; parents, Marion Woollard Champion and Bert Lamar Champion; sisters, Rachel Champion Brooks & husband, Aric, and Hannah Champion; uncle, Robin Woollard; mother-in-law, Linnette Mills; father-in-law, Marshall Gwaltney & wife, Cindy; sister-in-law, Kerri Gwaltney Young & husband, Josh; five nieces & nephews; and his bonus Phillips/Caldwell family. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Woollard; and paternal grandparents, Ann & Marcus Champion.

A graveside service for Mr. Daniel Ray Champion will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Champion Family Home, 17713 Holloway Lane, Opp, Alabama 36467. Shaun Moore will be officiating with Wyatt Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army ( www.givesalvationarmy.org ) or the Covington County Donated Fund, c/o Covington County DHR, P.O. Drawer 190, Andalusia, Alabama 36420.
