Corey William Udell Norris, age 40, of the Babbie Community departed this earth on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at his home. He was surrounded by his loved ones.

Corey was born in Lansing, Michigan on May 30, 1982. Most of his childhood was spent in Lewisburg, TN with his loving family. After a brief stay in Florida, he relocated to Covington County, Alabama in 2004 where he began his journey in life with his partner, Tommie.

Corey was a hardworking man; this was instilled in him by his parents. He spent 19 years as a loyal employee to Walmart where he retired just a few short years ago to embark in real estate, and also to help run the two businesses he and Tommie created. Corey had a passion for bowling and won a state championship award in Tennessee. He was, by the influence of his father, a jack of all trades. He loved to build and fix just about anything. Dear to his heart was his farm and his love of animals of all kinds, especially horses. Corey was a dedicated man to his community where he served as vice-chairman of the Opp Downtown Redevelopment Authority. With a servant's heart, he volunteered many hours in numerous city events, projects and fundraisers for the betterment of the community; many times sacrificing his own holidays and vacations for the good of others and those in need.

His infectious smile lit up the room and his loving heart touched all that knew him. He was loved and adored by many in both his private and personal life.

Corey is survived by his life partner, Tommie Norris of Opp, AL; parents, Jo Lynn James Udell & Terry Udell of TN, and Bonnie Cotter of Opp, AL; brothers, Ryan Smith (Mimi) of PA, Joseph Udell of VA, Christopher Udell (Nicole) of TN, and Michael Denault (Nancy) of Opp, AL; sisters, Danielle Lovett (Jesse) of TN; Ti-Tye Denault of Florala, AL, and Nancy Norris Malaski of Opp, AL; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and 26 nieces & nephews.

A memorial service for Corey William Udell Norris will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel. Stewart Young will be officiating. Flowers will be accepted.
