Obituary

Mr. Cecil Travis Bedsole, a resident of Andalusia, AL, was born 12/28/1937 in Kinston and died peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on 8/31/2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Maudie Mae Bedsole; and siblings, Estelle, Myrtle, William, Sara, Charles, Marie, James and Joyce.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Bette Jeanne Bedsole; son, Clayne (Melinda); daughter, Celeste (RaVonda); grandchildren, Tawny Wyatt (Jonathan), Brandon, and Tra (Beth); great-grandchildren, Luke Rylan, Karsyn, Austin, Easton, Barrett and Oaklyn; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Cecil joined the Air Force in 1956 and later retired as a Master Sergeant in 1976 after 20 years of dedicated service. They moved to South Alabama where they have lived for over 50 years so he and Bette could be near family.

He was a man very passionate about spending time with his family and friends. He loved anything outdoors, but mostly fishing, maintaining his yard, and driving the country back roads. His favorite saying, anytime you asked how he was doing and no matter what was going on in his life, was "I'm Peachy".

We will forever cherish and greatly miss his humor, friendship and unconditional love.

Go rest now Dad; we've got it from here.

Funeral services for Mr. Cecil Travis Bedsole will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 5, 2026 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with military graveside honors following in Rhoades Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until service time. Bro. Danny Branch and Shannon Piland will be officiating.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
