Mrs. Bettye Jean Schofield Strickland, age 94, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024 in Allardt, Tennessee.

Mrs. Strickland is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Marcus DeKovin "Mike" Strickland, II & Kimberly Ann; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Strickland; and siblings, Christine S. Prescott, Donnie Scofield, Sylvia S. Rasey and Tom Scofield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus DeKovin Strickland, Sr.; daughter, Kimberly Lucille Strickland; siblings, Sue S. Williams, Eloise S. Henderson, Billy Scofield, Wayne Scofield and Cynthia Scofield; and parents, Lois Bethune Schofield and Alto V. Schofield.

Mama's "Life's work" was as a "Military Wife"…we moved every 2 to 3 years while I was growing up…3 times to the Philippines…1 time to Japan …although she still found time to retire from 2 banks, working in Bookkeeping and the Base Exchange System (AAFES)…and she was a Diehard Florida State Seminoles fan…Go Noles!!!!...she lived the longest in Tallahassee, Florida, after Daddy's retirement…42 years, moving to Tennessee, when we moved in 2021.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bettye Jean Schofield Strickland will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Beulah Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wyatt Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. Larry Jackson will be officiating.
