Mrs. Betty Harrison Gautney, age 84, of Opp, Alabama passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023 in Mizell Memorial Hospital.

Betty had a heart for taking care of those in her community. She spent her life-long nursing career working with Dr. Wheeler A. Gunnels and Dr. Steven J. Davis.

Betty is survived by her granddaughter, Carla Gautney Wiggins & her husband, Wade; and great-grandchildren, Adalyn Wiggins and Finn Wiggins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton D. Gautney, Sr.; son, Carlton D. "Pee Wee" Gautney, Jr.; brother, J. C. Harrison, Jr.; and parents, Dollie Reynolds Harrison and J. C. Harrison, Sr.

Graveside services for Mrs. Betty Harrison Gautney will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at Wyatt Funeral Home one hour prior to the graveside. Joe Farris will be officiating with Wade Wiggins, Dave Wiggins, Danny Hutto, Jeremy Norris, Vernon Cowart and Kevin Perdue serving as pallbearers.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of Carla & Wade Wiggins, 503 Sellers Dr., Opp, Alabama 36467.
